Happy 2015! I had every intention of doing this post on New Years Eve, but real life has that funny way of catching you by surprise.

It’s probably appropriate that this is my first post of the new year, because this is the time that you’ll see talks of resolutions and reflections of how this year will be an improvement on the last. Well, this year, my resolution is to not have any resolutions but to live for today and enjoy every moment. Each day we are given, and each year that we live to see, is a blessing that is to be embraced and enjoyed to the fullest. While there’s nothing wrong with living healthy (and in fact, we all should), I’d like to think that if I got hit by a bus tomorrow, I won’t regret enjoying that bacon cheeseburger I decided I would indulge in that one time, instead of yet another salad. Similarly, I won’t regret procrastinating on cleaning out my closet, if it means that I get to spend that extra time with my loved ones. While it may seem like self-indulgence for some, I just point to what Robin Williams espoused in one of my all time favorite movies, Dead Poets Society: “There’s a time for daring and a time for caution, and a wise man understands which is called for.”

So welcome 2015… I’m looking forward to my moment of carpe diem 🙂
