Hello good people.  I happened to chat with an old friend the other day who meant (and to a certain extent still means) a great deal to me in SL.  It made me reminiscent, and I fondly thought back on our time together hanging out and exploring different sims.  He was also into photography in SL, and it was one of those things where we would each go quiet, and you would know that the other was snapping photos and capturing one of our many moments together.

One of those moments came at Bella Pace, which is a beautiful sim that has probably seen a lot of traffic from photographers and other romantics in SL.  The last time I was there, it was with him, and we had a great time shooting there and admiring the beautiful details of the build.  I even used the sim as a back drop to one of my blog posts back then, with him as my “model.” When things came to an end for us, I just didn’t go back there… I guess it was a bit sad for me since I associated it so closely with our relationship.

So, after our chat, I was inspired to go back to Bella Pace on my own, and re-explore it from a different lens so to speak.  It is still very gorgeous and has had a few changes in the almost year since I was there.  I swear it felt like I had transported into Tuscany, walking slowly up a gravelly path towards a villa, accompanied by a friendly dog and some random sheep :).  I will not deny that there was a bit of wistfulness for the old days while I was there.  But, as the poem that spawned today’s quote reads, it turns out that it was meant for just a season:

Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real.  But only for a season.
